STOP THE LIES: WALL STREET VS. MAIN STREET

Rochester, N.Y.--  Make no mistake, we are experincing tough times in America. Joblessness is everywhere, growth rates are slow and all sorts of fiscal crises loom in local governments-- especially here in upstate New York. The impact of the latest recession rumbles on and blights the lives of tens of millions of ordinary Americans.

No one should be surprised, then, that America's political system is on the hunt for a scapegoat – a bunch of villains on which to blame the nation's woes. But how odd that the current candidate turns out to be our labor movement in general-- and public sector unions in particular.

The Stop the Lies campaign has a new short film out to help the American public understand what is really going on in their communities.  Here at the CSEA Voice Reporter, we are speaking truth to power.

The film tells the stories of some hard-working AFSCME members, such as Joe Wisniowski, an airport equipment operator for an Ohio airport.

The video also exposes the shell game being played by those who attack public service workers. They want the public to believe that we are the ones who are overpaid – and not the Wall Street titans who raked in $20.3 billion in record bonuses – after getting bailed out with our tax money.

Please forward this video to your co-workers, family and friends and tell them to join the Stop The Lies campaign today. And, please watch the interview with Robert Greenwald, the film's producer as he explains how Wall Street is overtly and unjustly attacking public employees on MSNBC's "The Ed Show."

Editor's note:  This post is our 10th in a series of "Stop The Lies" campaign.  Please revisit some of our earlier posts by using the google search function at the top and right column of the home page.
