RALLY TO OPPOSE CORPORATE TAX BREAKS FOR GE SLATED FOR MONDAY MARCH 12

WHAT: Picket with Band of Rebels against Corporate Tax Breaks for General Electric
WHEN: Monday, March 12th, noon.
WHERE: South Ave. at the intersection of Science Parkway. Map here.
Between 2008-2010 General Electric had profits of $10.5 billion in the US. In the state of New York, they paid a tax rate of 0.9%! The average family in NY pays a tax rate 6.2%. Federally, the picture gets even worse. General Electric during this same period paid NOTHING in federal income taxes, and actually got a refund of $4.7 billion! That's a tax rate of NEGATIVE 45.3%!
Meanwhile, we're told that vital services like Education and Health Care need to be cut year after year and that we can't afford to pay for the quality education that ensures all students a bright future.
Let's take part in the statewide campaign to demand that we cut these corporate tax loopholes and begin to fund our fundamental social services the way that we should! Don't let GE continue to steal our future!
