COME OUT AND SUPPORT LOCAL LABOR AT THE ANNUAL LABOR DAY PARADE ON SEPTEMBER 5

Rochester, N.Y.--  This Labor Day we're honoring the transportation workers who spend hours navigating through heavy traffic, bad weather and disgruntled passengers making sure we arrive at our destinations on time and safely.

We're honoring our public librarians and teachers who are spending Labor Day weekend in classrooms getting ready for another big year of learning.  We honor the firefighters and law enforcement officers who risk their lives each and every day to protect ours. We honor the engineers, construction workers, manufacturing workers, mathematicians and scientists who are building America now and who are literally laying the foundation for our future.

We honor the nurses, doctors, caregivers and EMTs we've entrusted to care for us, nurture us and keep us healthy. But most of all, we honor all workers, no matter their job, no matter their sector, no matter their region. We honor all those who wake up each morning, dedicated to doing the best they can, to provide for themselves, their families and their communities.

Join us to celebrate our working world at this year's Rochester Labor Day Parade!

Last year, nearly 5,000 local residents came out to suppport the
local labor community.  The parade was revived in 1986 by the
RLC after 64 years on hiatus.          photo:  Ove Overmyer
