Rochester, N.Y.--  On September 1, Monroe County First Assistant District Attorney Sandra Doorley was introduced as the endorsed candidate for Monroe County District Attorney.  Doorley and her opponent both interviewed with the Monroe County CSEA Political Action Committee, which is comprised of workers who are employed with New York State, Monroe County, City of Rochester, Monroe County towns and villages and private sector health-care workers.

Bess Watts, president of CSEA Local 828 told the Voice Reporter, "I was very impressed with the caliber of the candidates-- however, Sandra Doorley's proven experience  in the DA's office makes her the better choice.  I was also impressed by the fact she is the first woman to serve as First Assistant District Attorney in the history of Monroe County, and the first woman to oversee the Homicide Bureau as well."

Watts added, "Filling Mike Green's shoes would be difficult for most, but she's done it all.  She is a composite candidate and a terrific public servant.  The workers and citizens of this County will be well served by her infinite knowledge of our local communities and her ability to work so well with so many diverse populations."

Doorley has served as a trial attorney in the Local Court, DWI, County Court, Domestic Violence, and Major Felony Bureaus. In addition, she has served as Chief of the DWI Bureau, and Deputy Chief of the Major Felony Bureau. Doorley has also prosecuted more than 1,000 felony cases, more than 30 of them homicides, which really is the measurable difference between her and her opponent.
